Customers Support The Local Foodbank

I was very privileged to visit the Dartford Food Bank with our customers, S-Express Ltd who regularly deliver to this very worthy cause.

The Nucleus customers supported and donated throughout November, all donations were gratefully received.

The foodbank were down to their last 4 Advent Calendars when we arrived so The Nucleus donations arrived at just the right time.

It was a very humbling experience – there were more than 40 amazing volunteers who were storing, stacking, picking and delivering food.  The Dartford Food Bank opens for 2 hours every day and when they opened this morning there were already 67 people in the queue waiting for help.  They are currently serving over 100 recipients each day.  The waiting room area was full with people ranging in age from children to pensioners and Steve, one of the volunteers, stated this was a normal day other than there had been no nurses in so far today.

It is amazing that the generosity of our business community has been able to help so many people.

The volunteers and the service provided by the food banks are sadly an essential service in today’s current climate.
