BOOK A TOUR

When the working day ends, The Nucleus doesn’t

Not your normal 9 to 5

April 13th 2026

There’s a moment, usually just after the laptops close and the emails stop, when a workspace either empties… or evolves.

At The Nucleus, it’s the latter.

Recently, one of our customers, Jas from Massage Holistic Therapy, transformed one of our meeting rooms into something entirely different: a calm, immersive space for a sound and gong bath therapy session. No desks. No presentations. Just a room reimagined to help people switch off, reset and recharge.

And it’s a great example of something we don’t always say loudly enough; this is more than just a place to work.

A space that adapts to you

During the day, our meeting rooms host everything from team briefings to client presentations. They’re designed to be professional, practical and easy to use – with natural light, flexible layouts and everything you need to get things done.

But what makes them valuable isn’t just what they are. It’s what they can become.

Across The Nucleus, customers have the freedom to shape spaces around how they work and who they serve. That might mean creating a therapy room, a private consultation space, or a calm, client-facing environment that feels a world away from a traditional office.

It’s that flexibility that allows businesses to step beyond desks and 9–5 expectations. To create spaces where clients feel comfortable, supported and able to switch off, even if just for an hour.

Jas’s session is a perfect example of that in action. With a few thoughtful changes, a familiar room became a completely different environment – one focussed on wellbeing, stillness and experience.

That’s not a one-off. It’s part of how The Nucleus works.

Community, in practice

We talk a lot about community, but the reality is simple: it’s built through what people actually do here, not just what we say.

Moments like this – where a customer brings something new into the space and others choose to take part – are where that community becomes visible.

It’s informal. It’s practical. And it works because it’s not forced.

Whether it’s a business event, a workshop, or something completely different like a sound bath session, the space is there to support it. That’s where real connections tend to happen.

This kind of everyday, lived experience is exactly what helps people understand the value of being here, not just hiring a room, but being part of something that feels active and supportive.

Beyond the working day

Jas’s session also highlights something else that’s quietly growing at The Nucleus: an out-of-hours offer shaped by the businesses based here.

There are a number of customers who provide services outside of the traditional working day, particularly in the wellbeing space. From therapies and treatments through to small group sessions, these businesses are using the environment in different ways to support both their own growth and the wider community.

It adds another layer to what The Nucleus offers.

For customers, it creates opportunities to access services on-site, without needing to travel elsewhere. For the businesses delivering them, it’s a flexible, professional setting that works around how they operate.

And for prospective customers, it’s a useful reminder: the value here doesn’t stop at 5pm.

For many of the businesses based here, flexibility matters. Not just in contracts or desk space, but in how and when they use the environment around them.

Out-of-hours use is a growing part of that.

It might be a workshop, a networking session, a training evening or, in this case, something focused on wellbeing. The format changes, but the principle stays the same: the space should work around you, not the other way round.

That’s part of the wider shift in how people see workspaces now. It’s no longer just about somewhere to sit between 9 and 5. It’s about having access to a professional, adaptable environment that supports different ways of working and even switching off.

Thinking differently about your space?

If you’re already part of The Nucleus community, it’s a reminder of what’s possible.

And if you’re exploring workspace options, it’s worth asking a simple question:

What could your space do beyond the obvious?

Because sometimes, the most valuable part of a workspace isn’t the desk. It’s the flexibility to turn it into something else entirely.

Lights, camera… opportunity: when Stranger Things came to The Nucleus

Opportunity is this month’s theme at The Nucleus. It’s hard to imagine a better real-world example than what happened when our space played host to a film crew working on One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things Season 5. The opportunity came about at short notice. Production company Wolfshoulder […]
