Littlebrook Power Station

December 18th 2019

The Bridge Development lost it's tallest landmark on Sunday 15th December when the 705ft chimney of the Littlebrook Power Station was demolished.

The Power station was one of the last surviving power stations dotted along the River Thames and first started generating electricity in 1939. It was closed in 2015 as it was deemed unprofitable to maintain and repair. One of our customers. Neil Bishop from Threshold Financial Services Ltd, came in to the office at 8 am to capture the momentous event on this amazing video.

The impact of the explosion was felt at The Nucleus and surrounding buildings and was heard for 20 miles in both Kent and Essex.
